ALL FOR THE SWIM: Ultra Woman Kate Bevilaqua

In an era of epic competitions, ULTRAMAN sits at the top of the food chain: A three-day, 320 mile (515k) race against oneself. Founded in 1983, the World Championships is held annually in late November on the Big Island of Hawaii where heat, humidity and winds all add to the challenge.

The race is limited to only 40 athletes on an invitation-only basis and attracts participants from around the world who seek to explore the extreme in physical and mental ability. Each racer must be accompanied by a support team over the entire course. The female winner of the 2016 ULTRAMAN Championships was Australia's Kate Bevilaqua, a professional triathlete and a blueseventy sponsored athlete. Her total time of 24:44.04 was good enough for 6th overall.
