Nottingham’s Outlaw Triathlon, organized by OSB Events has been an award winning event many many times, and with good reason! The UK long-distance event is faultlessly organized and has the most incredible volunteer army you’ll ever find at a race. Yesterday’s seventh running of the event was also a winner for blueseventy!
Junior elite triathlete, Sam Dickinson, blasted round the swim as part of the winning relay team, which also smashed the event record. It may have been his longest ever open water swim, but no one would have known with his 48minute swim. The KGF Dream Team, with Ryan Perry, a national champion time trialist, and Stuart Spencer set a new course record of 7:47:34, smashing the previous record of 8:01:10 set in 2011.
Second out of the water was Ben Terry, also in our award winning Helix wetsuit. In fact, 60% of the sub hour swimmers were in blueseventy suits!
Kit Walker and Alison Wilson were crowned 2016 champions at Nottingham’s Outlaw Triathlon. Around 1100 athletes took on the 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run, with Walker setting a new personal best time to win, whilst Wilson set the fastest ever time by a woman at the Outlaw, beating the previous best time of 9:50:58 set by Vicky Gill in 2013.
We were proud to be at the race expo and provide the swim caps for the Outlaw and the blueseventy Big Swim. We met lots of brilliant athletes, thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us. We loved this event and can’t recommend it highly enough!
